ABOUT

Hi! I'm Brooke Carlson and this is my story…
I have been around horses most of my life. I started riding when I was 4 and entered my first competition at age 9. By my 14th birthday I was ranked 4th in the state with my Quarter Horse “Shicombe”, a bucking horse that I purchased for $50. I was very lucky to have grown up with a family that was passionate about breeding, raising and training Arabians.
I apprenticed for 4 years learning the fine art of training Arabians and in 1988 I purchased the Ranch in Morgan Hill California…this would be the home of the future Brooke Carlson Equestrian Center. Thirty-Three years later I am still working with Arabians. I offer a wide variety of Equestrian Training from beginner riding lessons to Professional Horsemanship and National Competitions. I frequently show at the Canadian, US and Youth Nationals with riders of all ages from 4 to 85.
I have been active in the local FFA, 4-H and Horse Youth groups volunteering my time to get the youth participating in individual and group activities that teach them animal husbandry and life responsibilities.
Since I was 14 I’ve been training horses and riders in various competitive equestrian divisions including Park, Open English, Western, Country to Hunter, all forms of Equitation, Sport Horse, Dressage, Trail, Showmanship, Ranch Riding and Reining. In 2020, my youth clients garnered 15 Top Ten placings at US Youth Nationals, in six divisions out of twenty classes. I have a unique understanding of the bond that youth have with their horses and the thrill this experience gives them. Over the years I have come to love the Arabian horse for its beauty, intelligence, grace and kindness. I thoroughly enjoy helping people engage with these beautiful and wondrous creatures.
Come join me on a unique equine adventure and experience the thrill of making your dreams come true at The Brooke Carlson Equestrian Center in beautiful Morgan Hill…California’s Arabian Valley.
"We see ourselves as a family, who welcomes new people based on our shared love of the horses and riding."

"My son is diagnosed with autism and has very limited language skills it is difficult for him to communicate with others. He has sensory issues with certain noises and doesn't like to be touched. He is very strong willed and has trouble following directions at times. When he gets frustrated he will show a high level of anxiety.
Since October 2020 when he began riding with Brooke there has been an overall improvement in his language, following directions, his focus, recognizing people And details. He expresses his wants and needs and is so vocal with Brooke during riding sessions. He answers questions most of the time and understands now what is being asked. He knows the names of the other riders and looks forward to his sessions! It's amazing to sit and watch all the improvements in his life unfold! I am so happy to have found Brooke's ranch for my son. She is incredible and has made a wonderful change in our life!"
